Betsy's work is deeply informed by her lived experience as a caregiver, death doula, and widow. Her work captures the shift in world view and spiritual views brought about by experiences of deep grief and loss. Betsy often works with discarded objects as a metaphor for honoring the abandoned, as a comment on class and status, and as an exercise in the animism of giving something a second life.
